A liberal arts education is becoming increasingly popular these days, as a majority of business leaders recognize that oral and written communication and problem-solving skills are most important for college graduates to possess. Being well rounded opens doors to diverse career opportunities, and the ability to think creatively is just as important as having critical thinking skills. A highly analytical individual who can think outside the box and take charge when the situation requires it is an extremely attractive prospect to employers. John Cabot University's comprehensive liberal arts curriculum, internationally renowned professors, and extensive personal and professional resources available in the center of Rome are some of the great reasons to study abroad with us.

Explore the Global Community

At our American university in Italy, you have the chance to learn from the perspectives of different cultures and to forge long lasting connections with people from around the globe. For alumna Odette Albani, that led to a career in music and founding her own record label.

“After graduation, I moved to New York and worked in semi-conductor trading for one year. I then entered Columbia University Business School, where I was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma honor society and completed my MBA,” she says of her post-university career. “From there, I went to London, working first as a Management Consultant for AT Kearney, and later as Head of Business Development/Vice President at MTV Networks Europe. While I was working at MTV, people in the music industry spotted my talent and encouraged me to follow my dream, so I went back to doing what I really love; I founded Marbles Records and began to produce my album as a singer-songwriter.”

A Rich History of Art

If you’re interested in pursuing a career in art or art history, there are few better destinations than this historic city that has produced so many artistic masterpieces.

Alumna Mari Yoko Hara came to John Cabot University enamored with the idea of studying Renaissance art. Her passions led her to win the Rome Prize of the American Academy in Rome, one of the most prestigious awards available in the humanities. The close proximity to the art she loved and her supportive instructors helped push her along the path to success, and she’s now a PhD candidate at the University of Virginia.

“At JCU, I found wonderful teachers and a very particular take on art history that only a unique setting like Rome can provide. “By choosing to study abroad in Rome at John Cabot University, you’ll be immersing yourself in a different culture, mingling with interesting people from around the globe, and – above all – learning from respected instructors who are experts in their fields. It’s a one of a kind experience, and it could lead you to find your true calling, as it has done for Yoko and many other alumni.
