Hi! My name is Nadeem Duoibes. I am a Marketing and International Business Major at Grand Valley State University. I attended John Cabot University during the Fall 2019 semester. Studying abroad in Rome, Italy, for four months was the best decision of my academic career. During my time there, I learned so much about Rome and the history of the beautiful Eternal City. I was also lucky enough to travel all over Europe and see over nine countries as well as visit several cities and islands in Italy.
I chose to study abroad because I had heard so many great things about Rome from people I knew who had gone there in years past. While at JCU, I loved all of my classes, and I learned so many great things. I especially loved my philosophy class with Professor Brunella Antomarini. She was very insightful and opened my eyes to new ideas I had never thought of before. I also met a lot of great people from other schools, many of whom I am still in contact with today.
The Italian culture is so rich and unique. It was amazing being able to experience it. My advice for students considering attending John Cabot University in the future is to have an open mind. Everything is different, but that is a good thing. You need to embrace the change and create new memories and experiences.
Studying abroad at JCU was one of the best choices I ever made. It opened my eyes to the beauty of the world and gave me a more profound respect for people’s cultures and ways of life. The people and experiences I had I will never forget and will always cherish. I would recommend studying abroad for everyone because if I had the chance, I would do it again. I am forever grateful.
