May 21, 2025

Studying abroad is more than just taking classes in a new country - it's about immersing yourself in a different culture, gaining real-world experience, and growing both personally and professionally. At John Cabot University, students have the unique opportunity to combine academic learning with practical internships in Rome, one of the world's most inspiring cities. Our robust study abroad and internship programs empower students to step outside their comfort zones and gain global perspectives that set them apart.

Internship Spotlight: From Study Abroad to Social Media Marketing in Rome

One of the many success stories from our internship program is Elizabeth Conklin, a study abroad student from Sacred Heart University. Elizabeth interned at Dakota, a luxury vintage fashion boutique located in the center of Rome. With support from our Center for Career Services, she was able to align her academic interests in marketing with her passion for fashion.

As a social media intern, Elizabeth managed content creation, developed marketing strategies, and helped grow Dakota’s digital presence. “This was an extremely immersive experience that I’m positive I wouldn’t have had at home,” she shared. Her role offered valuable insights into the luxury retail industry, along with international work experience that will enhance her future career.
