1. Will I Need to Delay Graduation at My Home University to Study in Italy?
No, studying in Italy will not necessarily delay your graduation date. In fact, studying at John Cabot University (JCU) could even speed up your time to graduation at your home university, as JCU offers summer courses that can count towards your home degree. Because JCU is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, credits transfer easily. Students can choose from over 400 courses during the regular semesters and 130 courses during our two five-week summer sessions.
This is a great option for students who are already enrolled in a degree program and want to gain international experience at an American university in Italy.
2. Can I Get Grants and Scholarships to Fund My Studies?

3. What Subjects Can I Study in Rome?
Whatever your specialty, JCU probably has a course for you. Majors range from economics and business, to art history and humanities, to Italian studies and marketing. Students can choose between undergraduate, postgraduate, and study abroad programs.

4. Do I need to Speak Italian?
No, students do not need to have any prior knowledge of Italian as all of JCU’s courses are taught in English (excluding foreign language classes). You will, of course, have plenty of opportunities to improve your language skills while you live and study in Italy. JCU encourages students to take Italian language and literature classes to help them learn the language. This will be a valuable skill to have while living in Rome and will help you to stand out among your peers when applying for jobs in the future.
5. Where Will I Live?
International students in Italy can live in university housing, which is located just a few minutes walking distance from campus. There are three main residential housing options, including Gianicolo Residence, the Lungara Apartments, and the Viale Trastevere Apartments. These are each ‘Roman’ in style, and are home to studentsfrom all across the world!
