As of the Spring 2020 semester, the Fashion Club has a new president, Norma Ambrosio. Already part of the club for the past year, Norma gained a new title that will enhance her growth and skills at John Cabot University. She is excited for what the future has in store for the Fashion Club and is ready to put her leadership skills into action!
"Being an Orientation Leader made me understand how John Cabot has a strong sense of community, and I believe that I have gained the skills to be a leader and bring people together that share the same passions, which is what student clubs are all about. I chose to be a part of the Fashion Club because it was something that grabbed my attention and interests the most. It's nice to see fashion not only being portrayed through clothing, but also through food, culture, art, etc."
How would you describe your leadership style?
"I believe my leadership style is very democratic. Being young, I listen a lot because I do not want to be presumptuous by saying I know everything when I do not. I also try to be very trusting towards others and respect what my team members propose or want to do for an event or activity that could benefit the club."
"Listening is important. If a member of the club proposes something, it's good to be open-minded and hear what people may want to do for the club. Collaboration is also crucial because I rely on my team, and even though I am president, everyone shares the responsibility to make the fashion club grow and move forward. My main value overall is that we should be a team. Even if there are different positions in the club, we all should work together."
