If you're planning to stay in Rome after you graduate, but feel a little confused about the next steps to take, that is perfectly normal. Adjusting to life after college is always challenging. But, luckily, John Cabot University does all that it can to help its students and alumni get on the right path. With their guidance, and your skills, you should have nothing to worry about.
Here are 5 things that JCU graduates can do to find the right opportunities in Rome:
1. Check out JCU employment opportunities
Many times, JCU alumni decide to stay in Rome after they finish their degree and work at their alma mater. There are many employment opportunities right here on campus. Instead of rushing off to a new country, why not enjoy the comfort and stability of "home" for some time, and gain great work experience?

2. Make an appointment with Career Services
Head over to the JCU Career Services Center to discuss summer internships, future job possibilities, and more. The office dedicates its time to helping students and alumni prepare for and successfully enter the workforce. They can even help you with your CV and cover letter, and give you advice on starting a career in Italy.

3. Join LinkedIn
If you haven't already, create a LinkedIn profile. Fill out your profile as much as possible, including university information, area of study, any job or internship experience, extracurriculars, and skills. There are new jobs and internships posted daily in Rome (and around the world) so start looking and start applying!
4. Talk to your professors
JCU professors are not only experts in their area of study, but they have extensive work experience as well. More often than not, your favorite professors will have useful connections in whatever industry you are pursuing after earning your degree. For example, your journalism professor might have connections at local magazines or newspapers. Make sure to take advantage of these valuable relationships made at John Cabot!
5. Look into grad school
If you don't feel ready to leave the academic environment and you long to pursue a Master's degree, you should look into grad school options! There are plenty of opportunities out there that will allow you to stay in Rome and continue your education. If your field is humanities, you can even stay at John Cabot University and earn a Master's in Art History. You can also look into some of the Italian or international universities around Rome, or even other parts of Italy.
