Have you ever been to an Art Auction? How about a Bachelor Auction? Last Thursday night in the Aula Magna at John Cabot University, students attended a unique event combining both of these ideas: The Art History Club’s Bachelors of Art Auction!
At this event, students dressed up as famous works of art and were auctioned off to the highest student bidder in the crowd. Participants bid on figures from works such as Da Vinci's Mona Lisa and Degas' Ballerina. The event's objective is to gain a wider appreciation of the arts in the John Cabot University community. Funds raised from the Auction go toward other Art History Club initiatives including our Lecture Series.
The winners had a picture taken with their prize, and will attend a date later on in the semester. Last year’s date was at an exhibition at the American Academy in Rome.
The Bachelors of Art Auction is the Art History Club’s biannual fundraiser, and the money raised will go toward other Art History Club events, including our Lecture Series.
