With the mid-term season quickly approaching, it's normal to feel a little stressed and overwhelmed. Classes are in full-swing, professors are regularly giving out assignments, and you have plenty of exams to study for. But before you get bogged down by the weight of the mid-term pressures, take a moment to step back and relax. As long as you stay focused and create good study habits, you have nothing to worry about! Midterms will be over before you know it.

One of the best ways to make sure you stay focused is setting aside time to study. And a very important factor of this time is where you study.

Here are 5 study spots perfect for John Cabot students:

1. The Meditation Garden

Located in the Guarini Campus, the meditation garden is the perfect place for peace and quiet. It has been around since 2013, and it was originally created by the JCU Student Government and Grassroots Club. Its main purpose is for students from different religious backgrounds to come and pray or meditate, but it's also a wonderful place to study. If you can't concentrate with background noise, or if you get easily distracted, this is the spot for you. You can even take study breaks to meditate, or pray for upcoming exams.

2. A Local Cafe

If you like to study with a little more hustle and bustle in the background, you should consider setting up your books and laptop at a local coffee shop. Whether you prefer to sit outside on a sidewalk table or in the back of a cozy cafe, there are plenty of options around Trastevere to choose from. If you want to be close to Guarini, you can always opt for the student-favorite, Caffè Settimiano. If you don't want to risk the chance of running into friends and getting distracted, then go find a cozy coffee shop on a hidden street or stay close to your apartment. Either way, there are plenty of quaint places around town.

3. The Library's Aurelian Wing

It might seem like a no-brainer, but the library is a great study spot. If you are someone who needs peace and quiet but still likes to be around people, then the JCU library is the perfect place for you to get some studying done. The Aurelian Wing was added in 2013, and it is a beautiful space with fast internet, great lighting, and shelves full of books. Head over there, stake out a good spot, and start preparing for those mid-terms.

4. One of the JCU Terraces

One great part of the John Cabot University campuses is the fact that there are so many beautiful terraces always available for students. Climb up to the Secchia Terrace and enjoy breathtaking views of Roman rooftops and the awe-inspiring streets of Trastevere. You will feel like you're in a fairy tale or movie. That's not such a bad feeling to have while preparing for mid-term exams!

5. At Home

If none of these options sound great to you, don't forget about the obvious one. You can always stay at home and get some studying done there. It might be nice having the place to yourself if your roommates are out at the library. You can light a candle, put on some classical music, and hit the books. Don't forget to take a study break every once in a while! You can go take quick walks every so often, to keep the blood flowing.

Good luck, and happy studying!
